Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

I was at the Tuition Fees protest yesterday, which culminated in violence by some when the announcement was made that it was passed with a majority of 21. Rubbish. Seemingly in the press, the stupidity of some protesters justifies the tuition fee rises being mostly ignored in favour of banging on about the violence. Yes, it happened, but also the Conservatives fucked over generations of young people, and the Liberal Democrats went back on an explicit election pledge. What is the point of a democracy if parties can say one thing to get votes, then go back on their word and try and put the blame back onto protesters? Nothing justifies that, and it makes a mockery of the entire bloody system.

Also, some people are saying they are more fair because you pay off less money every year... but you pay it off for longer. This on top of bad employment prospects, near-on impossible chances of mortgages, tax rises, benefit cuts, rising energy costs, will be the straw that broke the camels back for many people.

Anyway, ramble. This song was blasting out at the protest just before the announcement was made... which cheered us up a bit, in the face of impending doom.

"Nick Clegg shame on you, shame on you for turning blue."
